The New Orleans Pelicans and Houston Rockets are reportedly working on a deal that would involve swapping Omer Asik and Ryan Anderson, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski. It is unclear how far the two teams are in negotiations.

Asik, 27, averaged 10.1 points and 11.7 rebounds a game with the Rockets last season. He's more than capable of starting down low and would join a rapidly improving team in New Orleans that recently signed free agent Tyreke Evans to a four-year deal.

Anderson, 25, continued to shoot the ball well last season while averaging 16.2 points and 6.4 rebounds a game with the Pelicans. A true stretch-four, he would seem to fit in very well alongside Howard and James Harden in Houston. The only real downside to his game comes on the defensive end, where he's earned a reputation of getting beat off the dribble more times than not. Anderson is not much of a shot blocker, either, despite being 6'10.

The Rockets would likely have to include more than Asik in order to convince the Pelicans to ship Anderson west, although it is unclear if the two sides are discussing any other players, draft picks or financial compensation.
