The Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired starting pitcher Ricky Nolasco from the Miami Marlins, the team confirmed on Twitter. The Dodgers will send minor-leaguers Steven Ames, Josh Wall and Angel Sanchez to the Marlins. MLB Daily Dish's Chris Cotillo first reported the deal.

The Dodgers also acquired international signing bonus slot No. 96, valued at $197,000, the team reported.

Nolasco is 5-8 on the season with a 3.85 ERA in 18 starts for the Marlins. The starter has fanned 90 hitters while only issuing 25 walks over 112-1/3 innings pitched.

The Dodgers will assume the rest of Nolasco's $11.5 million contract, according to Danny Knobler of CBS Sports. Nolasco, a native of Southern California, is a free agent at the end of the season.

Ames and Wall are both right-handed relievers who have spent the majority of the season in Triple-A Albuquerque. Sanchez is a right-handed starter who has spent most of the season in Class-A. None of the prospects returning to Miami are considered upper-echelon, according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.

The Colorado Rockies made a strong offer for Nolasco, according to Knobler, but the team's ownership was not willing to add more salary.
