Paris Saint-Germain have signed Lucas Digne, solidifying their left back position for the foreseeable future. Digne, who arrives from LOSC Lille after coming up through their youth academy, became first choice for the club last season at just 19 years of age and was one of the best player at the Under-20 World Cup, which he won with France. PSG did not reveal the fee they paid for Digne, but it's been reported to be in the region of €15m.

After slowly breaking into the first team in the 2011-12 season, Digne started last season as a first choice player and was one of Lille's best. He's been an obvious star of the future for quite some time, having made his debut for the France Under-16 national team in 2008. He's represented his country at every youth level through Under-20 since then, with Under-21 caps a certainty next year and senior call-ups unlikely to be far off.

PSG were in need of depth at left back after the departure of Sylvain Armand, who was the club's longest serving player until he left for Rennes on a free transfer. Maxwell performed well as the club's first choice left back last season, but he's 31 years old and has no quality backup. Expect to see quite a bit of both Maxwell and Digne in the 2013-14 season.
