The Kansas City Chiefs first injury report of San Diego Chargers week is out and luckily there aren't 13 players on it like last week.
There are only (only?) nine.
Full practice: Jake O'Connell
Limited practice: Anthony Toribio, Ryan Lilja, Kendrick Lewis, Dexter McCluster, Devon Wylie
Did not practice: Peyton Hillis, Kevin Boss, Steve Breaston
A few notes on this injury report:
Rodney Hudson, one of the "big three" hurt in the Saints game, is already on IR. McCluster practicing suggests he has a shot at playing this weekend. I heard Mitch Holthus talking on 810 WHB and though he didn't say anything too specific I got the impression that Hillis may be the most hurt out of the group.
Lilja was on the report last week but played anyway. His health is especially important now that Hudson is done for the year. Lilja is in at center so if he goes down then the Chiefs are looking at Russ Hochstein or Bryan Mattison, both of whom were signed today.
Boss suffered a concussion in the Bills game and missed last week's Saints game. Kind of concerning he's not practicing yet. If this were a longer term head injury, you'd think the Chiefs would consider IR, but they haven't done that so we'll see what his status is this week.
Will this finally be the week Toribio or Lewis get on the field?
