Kansas City Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel updated the media on the Chiefs injury situation entering Week 6 and we've already talked about the big one -- Matt Cassel. He will not practice today -- read more about that here.
The rest of the injury report includes a few notable names.
Crennel said that neither Peyton Hillis nor Glenn Dorsey would practice on Wednesday but that they would "begin to do more on-the-field work" so that's good news. Hillis has what Romeo called a "high ankle" -- likely a high ankle sprain -- and has been out since suffering the injury in Week 3.
The Chiefs defense did fine last week without Dorsey. They were down to their third defensive end with Ropati Pitoitua also missing last week's game. PItoitua will try to get out there and do some work today, according to Crennel.
A few more Chiefs injury updates from Romeo:
- "[Devon] Wylie, he's still nursing that hamstring. I don't know exactly how much he's going to do today and then we'll go from there."
- "Shaun Draughn has an ankle. He turned his ankle in the game so he's going to be out there and we'll see what he can do."
- "[Ryan] Lilja, he'll be limited and we'll see how we will progress with him."
- "Kendrick Lewis, we're going to put him out there and see how much progress he's made and see what he can do as well."
We'll see who else pops up on the injury report this afternoon when it's officially released.
