The second-overall selection in the 2013 NFL Draft missed practice on Tuesday as Jacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle Luke Joeckel is working to recover from a hip flexor injury, according to Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union.

Joeckel, 21, is expected to be the starting right tackle for the Jaguars as a rookie and the injury is not considered to be serious. On Monday, Joeckel was listed as "day to day," as the Jaguars aren't taking any chances with the player they signed to a four-year, $21.2 million deal in June.

In the preseason opener against the Miami Dolphins, Joeckel and the entire Jaguars starting offensive line got plenty of work, blocking for both Blaine Gabbert and Chad HenneJoeckel finished the game with 33 total snaps, tied for the fifth-most among offensive players on the team.

Joeckel was a unanimous All-American and the recipient of the Outland Trophy as a junior after blocking for Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Johnny Manziel.
