Arrowheadlines: Late for the second day in a row with NJ Chiefs Fan out of town.
Enjoy today's KC Chiefs news.
The Kansas City Chiefs (1-4) travel to the Southeast part of the country to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-3) in a battle of two teams looking to get on the winning track after poor starts to their season.
We're going to break this game into a few different categories and decide which team has the upper-hand in that particular area. The four areas we're going to look at are coaching, offense, defense and momentum.
Romeo Crennel hasn't yet made the declaration, but free safety Kendrick Lewis said he would start Sunday for the first time this season in the Chiefs' game against the Buccaneers in Tampa, Fla.
"I'm back this weekend," Lewis said. "I'm saying that. Coach hasn't put his stamp on there but I'm feeling good and I'm feeling confident to go out there and help my team and I'm ready if he allows me to."
The Bucs have confirmed that Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs will be blacked out in the Tampa Bay area.
Per NFL rules, when sales do not reach a minimum threshold - in the Bucs' case, 85 percent of nonpremium seating - at least 72 hours prior to kickoff, games are not permitted to be aired in television markets within 75 miles.
Quinn will start in Tampa Bay and Stanzi will be his backup. The Chiefs can only hope Stanzi proves more capable than he was during the preseason if he has to play against the Buccaneers.
"Honestly, I haven't really looked back on it,'' Stanzi said of his preseason. "We've kind of had the mentality of always moving forward with what we're doing and trying to progress each day. That's kind of been the mentality of all of us and that includes me."
Now, the Chiefs are in danger of being out of the playoff race by the middle of October.
Adversity? The Chiefs have plenty of it.
What they need more of is wins.
Quinn on his comfort level with the Chiefs offensive playbook:
"Yeah, I feel comfortable with it. I was with Coach [Brian] Daboll in 2009. There have been some changes since then. That part and just getting adjusted to the personnel too, there are obviously different guys here. That's one of the advantages you have that we talked about earlier, when you're taking reps with some of the ones now you're getting to throw and you're getting timing down with those guys, whereas before it's more just mental reps. It's just preparation for if that opportunity arises."
