Jared Sullinger turned himself into police early Tuesday morning, according to Nikoletta Banushi of MyFox Boston. Sullinger was arrested after reportedly being involved in a domestic situation with his girlfriend over the weekend.
The Boston Celtics big man is reportedly being charged with assault and battery, malicious destruction of property and witness intimidation. He's expected to appear in Waltham District Court on Tuesday to be formally charged.
The 21-year-old fell in last year's NBA Draft due to reported back problems, but ended up offering good on-court production as the 22nd pick. Sullinger averaged a solid six points and 5.9 rebounds in less than 20 minutes of action during his rookie year.
He was expected to take on a bigger role for the Celtics this season following the trade of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Jason Terry to the Brooklyn Nets, but that's up in the air following the results of this situation.
