Rumors of Chiefs GM Scott Pioli getting a contact extension hit Kansas City last week and they went national on Sunday when CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reported that Pioli had been offered -- but not yet signed -- a two-year contract extension from the team.
The Internet reacted to the news of Pioli's possible extension:
Colquitt drops another punt inside the 5. I'm just going to keep pointing out he doesn't have an extension... but Pioli does. Why?

Not sure what I would have guessed to happen first: dude jumping from space or Pioli extension.

#kcchiefs I think that Pioli should be given a 10 year extension...

#shitnobodysays I wish the Chiefs would give Pioli a contract extension

Well, the 2 year Scott Pioli contract extension is off to a great start! #sarcasm #Chiefs

Appropriate ending. I'm guessing Scott Pioli wishes the news on his extension had not come out today...

I'm guessing Clark Hunt ended his offer of a contract extension for Pioli with something like "Scottie, you're doing a heck of a job."

@bobfescoe pioli? probably telling someone remind him to sign that extension ASAP

Pioli got a 2 year extension? Hey Hunt, you could've just sent the KC Star a photo off you flipping us off. We would've got the point.

@chiefspr why has scott pioli been offered a contract extension? We are terrible and are not getting any less terrible.

@arrowheadaddict I have some language I can add to the Pioli contract extension.

Pioli's contract extension offer only means one thing: Clark Hunt hates Kansas City and everyone who lives here.
