The Winnipeg Jets have extended the contract of manager Kevin Cheveldayoff, the team announced on Wednesday morning. The terms of the agreement have not been released as of this writing.

Cheveldayoff took over as the team's manager in June of 2011 and had previously worked as the assistant general manager and senior director of hockey operations for the Chicago Blackhawks. In addition, he spent 12 years as the general manager of the American Hockey League's Chicago Wolves, which resulted in four championships (two Calder Cups and two Turner Cups).

Earlier this offseason, Cheveldayoff signed head coach Claude Noel to a contract extension through the 2014-15 season. Now, the manager has received one of his own.
