Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Andre Ethier suffered a setback Tuesday in his recovery from a sprained ankle, putting his availability for the start of the postseason in question, reports Mark Saxon of ESPN.

Ethier tried to complete a baserunning workout at AT&T Park on Tuesday, but had to cut it short when he started feeling soreness in his ailing left ankle. After he shut things down, the veteran expressed frustration about how slow the healing process has been and admitted that there's "not a lot of time" left for him to get better.

Other than his pinch-hit strikeout on Sunday, the 31-year-old Ethier has been stuck on the sidelines since Sept. 13. The Dodgers originally planned to put him back in the lineup on Tuesday, but now they're targeting this weekend's final regular season series against the Rockies.

LA sort of lucked out that Matt Kemp returned to the DL just three days after Ethier went down, allowing the club to move forward without suffering any loss in production in center. Should Ethier return in time for the division series, the Dodgers will have a tough choice to make about who to sit in the outfield among Kemp, Ethier, Yasiel Puig and Carl Crawford.

Ethier is batting .272/.360/.423 with 12 home runs in 143 games for the Dodgers this season.
