Pete Lembo, Noel Mazzone and Pat Narduzzi are also considered major candidates for the position.

Highly successful Virginia Tech defensive coordinator Bud Foster will reportedly interview for the head coaching vacancy at Connecticut, via Pete Roussel of Coaching Search.

Foster has been the team's defensive coordinator since 1995, and has consistently coached some of the top defensive units in the nation. He was the recipient of the 2006 Broyles Award, given annually to the top assistant coach in the country.

After playing as a strong safety and linebacker at Murray State, Foster coached at the school briefly before taking a job with the Hokies as a linebackers coach in 1987. He has no apparent ties to the region, and hails from Kentucky.

Paul Pasqualoni was fired after an 0-4 start to the season, and Foster was not listed among our initial list of potential candidates. Monday, reports came out that UCLA offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone, Michigan State defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi and Ball State head coach Pete Lembo were among the names considered.
