The 49ers got a big score against the Bucs on Sunday, but they'd prefer to have their star tight end stay healthy.
San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis had to run very fast for a relatively-far distance to catch a 52-yard touchdown pass from Colin Kaepernick. But Davis didn't just run the 52 yards of course, and when it came time to hold himself up, the Niners star tight end was unable to do so.
A 52-yard touchdown with 62 yards of runway and Davis's body needed to go 65 yards. Watch out for that tree, Vernon Davis:
It appears that Davis is okay and he walked off the field under his own power, though with concussion concerns all over the NFL, they won't take any chances in evaluating the tight end.
The score gave the 49ers a 17-0 lead over the Bucs in the second quarter. Kaepernick has 148 yards and two touchdowns, Davis has 77 yards and the above score and hopefully no injuries.
