Neither team really wants the ball.
The Washington Redskins-Atlanta Falcons game is really living up to its billing on Sunday afternoon. The two 3-10 teams proved their ineptitude during the second quarter when they combined to fumble on three consecutive plays.
Washington's Alfred Morris got the party started when he coughed up the ball on a 1st-and-10 run just after Kirk Cousins completed a long 62-yard pass. The Falcons fell on the fumble, but didn't seem too interested in keeping it for long. On the ensuing play, Ryan Kerrigan got to Matt Ryan for a sack-fumble and Washington's Brian Orakpo was able to fall on the loose ball.
Having been gifted the ball back, the Redskins returned the favor when Santana Moss fumbled the ball away after grabbing a 17-yard reception. Atlanta recovered, ending the back-and-forth turnover-fest.
The two teams are actually putting together a rather entertaining game, as the Falcons are clinging to a slim 17-14 lead just before halftime.
