Texas is reportedly targeting a number of NFL head coaches.

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly has denied rumors that he may be a candidate for the vacant head coaching job at the University of Texas, telling ESPN's Phil Sheridan it's "just speculation."

"I understand you have to ask the question," Kelly said Monday, "but I'm not involved in any jobs. I'm the coach of the Philadelphia Eagles. I'm going to prepare for the Bears and prepare for the Cowboys after that. Hopefully we have an opportunity to go to the playoffs and I'm going to be here for a while."

A group of NFL head coaches are reportedly on the Longhorns' wish list, including Kelly, Seattle's Pete Carroll and Green Bay's Mike McCarthy. The Eagles are in first place in the NFC East, with an 8-6 record, and look on track for a playoff berth in Kelly's first season.

Kelly went 46-7 as the head coach of Oregon, appearing in BCS bowl games all four years -- including a berth in the 2011 BCS National Championship Game.

Previously, Kelly was speculated to be a target for USC when the Eagles were doing poorly, and he shot those rumors down as well.
