We break down the Week 16 matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers.
The Week 16 matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers features two solid rushing attacks. We've got all the fantasy projections courtesy of numberFire.
Pittsburgh Steelers
For the first time in a long time, the Steelers are focused on evaluating talent for next season. One of those talents is running back Le'Veon Bell. Bell missed the start of the season due to injury. Since that time he's proven he can catch passes effectively and barrel his way through opposing defensive lines. He's a definite starter against the Packers.
When the Steelers throw the ball, many of Ben Roethlisberger's passes will end up in the hands of Antonio Brown. Brown has proven his value time and time again this year. He handles kick returns, racks up receptions and can make big plays down the field. He'll be counted on to exploit the Packers secondary this week.
Green Bay Packers
With Aaron Rodgers (broken collarbone) declared out earlier in the week, Matt Flynn will start on Sunday. He's inconsistent, to say the least. The good news for fantasy owners is that Flynn managed 299 yards and four touchdowns against the Dallas Cowboys last week. Perhaps he can build on that performance against the Steelers.
Flynn may or may not throw a high volume of passes on Sunday. Either way, he'll be handing the ball off to Eddie Lacy regularly. Lacy is the most productive running back the Packers' organization has had in a long time. He has over 200 yards rushing and a pair of touchdowns in the last two games, so he's playing well at the right time for his fantasy owners.
