Dwayne Bowe managed 46 receiving yards on Sunday. We take a look at the fantasy implications.

Being the most-targeted player on your team, on any given Sunday, doesn't typically translate into a poor performance. However, in the case of Dwayne Bowe, it led to mediocrity. Bowe finished Sunday's game with five catches for 46 yards. He was targeted ten times by quarterback Alex Smith.

Bowe has uncharacteristically failed to surpass 70 receiving yards all season. Smith put up one of his worst performances of the season. The Chiefs were off to a hot start with a touchdown from running back Jamaal Charles. They failed to score for the rest of the game. Smith couldn't get anything going in the passing game. He was intercepted twice, and he lost a fumble. Bowe suffered, as he has for most of the 2013 season.

Fantasy impact: Bowe has been a huge fantasy disappointment all season. His struggles can be largely contributed to Smith's inability to consistently get the ball downfield. Regardless, fantasy owners that were hoping for some WR3 production, against a beatable Indianapolis Colts secondary, suffered. Of course, owners are likely familiar with the risk that Bowe presents this late in the season. He'll continue to be a shaky start against the San Diego Chargers in Week 17.
