Barnett's season is over after he tore his MCL last week.

Washington Redskins linebacker Nick Barnett has been placed on the Injured Reserve list after tearing his MCL last week in a loss to the Dallas Cowboysaccording to NBC Sports' Josh Alper.

Although Barnett just joined the Redskins last offseason, he could have already played his last game with the team. The 32-year-old failed to make much of an impact this season, recording just 12 tackles in a reserve and special teams role. He had previously been a starter in Green Bay -- where he spent his first eight seasons -- before putting together consecutive 100-tackle seasons in Buffalo in 2011 and '12.

In fact, Barnett's 11-year NFL career could be over entirely. He'll be 33 in May and coming off of a major knee injury, which doesn't bode well for his chances in free agency.

The 2003 first-round pick has piled up a wealth of stats during his time in the league, including 1,041 combined tackles, 20.5 sacks, seven fumble recoveries and 12 interceptions.
