Moreno did not return to the game after a fourth-quarter injury.
Denver Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno left the AFC Championship Game against the New England Patriots in the fourth quarter with a chest injury.
Moreno landed awkwardly after his 14th carry of the game. He exited the game and was later announced as questionable to return, but never came back.
Prior to exiting the game, Moreno had picked up 59 yards rushing and also caught two passes for 22 yards. Montee Ball took over at running back for the Broncos, but wasn't quite as effective, finishing with 12 carries for 43 yards. With the Broncos beating the Patriots, their concern now shifts to the Super Bowl. Moreno not returning to the game didn't matter much on Sunday, but playing without him in the Super Bowl would be tough.
2013 was a breakout season for the fifth-year running back out of Georgia. He had over 1,000 yards rushing this season and became a big part of the Broncos' offense.
