The first meeting of the season between the Spurs and Heat wasn't very dramatic after the Heat ran away in the third quarter.

The Miami Heat had no trouble dispatching the San Antonio Spurs with a 113-101 victory in the first game between the teams since the 2013 NBA Finals. The Heat had an eight point lead at halftime but took over the game in the third quarter, outscoring San Antonio 33-21 to put the game away early.

LeBron James finished with 18 points, six assists and seven rebounds. He had a short night, playing only 28 minutes, but still had plenty of time to complete a few incredible plays, including this over-the-backboard baseline fadeaway jumper:

Dwayne Wade returned to the Heat's lineup after missing four games. Ray Allen started, but Wade played 24 minutes off the bench. He finished the night with eight points and five assists. Chris Bosh was very efficient, scoring a game-high 24 points on 9-of-10 shooting.

The Spurs struggled without three starters as Danny Green, Tiago Splitter and Kawhi Leonard were all sidelined with injuries. Tim Duncan scored a team-high 23 points. Bosh, James, Duncan and Parker all sat out the entire fourth quarter after Miami took a 20-point lead going into the final frame.
