Monaco have completed the signing of Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov on loan until the end of the season.
AS Monaco had been on the lookout for a striker after Radamel Falcao suffered a serious knee injury, and they've signed one right on the deadline. Fulham'sDimitar Berbatov has joined Claudio Ranieri's Ligue 1 outfit on loan until the season, though the official club statement makes no mention of a permanent option.
Quoted on the club's website, Berba commented:
"I am both happy, excited and a little nervous. I can't wait to start training with my new teammates and begin a new chapter in my career."
The 33-year-old Hungarian hasn't impressed as Fulham have toiled near the bottom of the Premier League so far this season, having netted just four times in 18 matches. Hopefully now with a better team around him, he'll be able to recapture some of the form which saw him score 15 league goals for the Cottagers last season.
One thing's for certain: he shouldn't struggle to slot into the classy environs of Monte Carlo.
