A hard hit has caused Blaine Gabbert to leave Thursday night's game against Indianapolis.

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert left Thursday night's game against the Indianapolis Colts with an apparent injury to his non-throwing shoulder.

Following a sack early in the forth quarter, Gabbert was attended to by trainers on the field before leaving the game. He was replaced with Chad Henne, who the Jaguars signed in the offseason to play backup to their sophomore quarterback and aid with his development.

Through three quarters, Gabbert had thrown for 209 yards on 31 attempts, including one interception. With the Jaguars down big late in the game, it will be on Henne to use his arm to get the Jaguars back into it. Thus far, it's a change that has worked well for head coach Mike Mularkey; in his first drive off the bench, Henne has led the Jaguars to their only score of the game, a four-yard TD pass to Cecil Shorts III.

Prior to Thursday night, the last time Henne played was on Oct. 21st against the Oakland Raiders. In that game, he completed 45 percent of his passes for 71 yards. Early reports from Jacksonville are that Gabbert is probable to return.
