Patrick Kane suffered an apparent leg injury after Brenden Morrow fell on him on Wednesday night.
This is not what the Chicago Blackhawks need as they get closer to the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Late in the second period of their game against the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday night, leading scorer Patrick Kane had to exit with what appeared to be a left leg injury after Brenden Morrow fell on him awkwardly.
Kane slowly skated off the ice and had to exit to the team's locker room. He did not return to the game. During the third period NBC's Pierre McGuire reported that he spoke to Kane's father (who had spoken to Kane's agent) and that early indications are that Kane could be sidelined for two weeks or more.
The Blackhawks have not offered an official update yet, but Chicago-Tribune beat writer Chris Kuc reported that the injury is not believed to be serious.

The injury happened after Morrow was checked along the boards by Blackhawks forward Peter Regin and his momentum carried him into Kane's leg. Kane logged 7:54 of ice-time and recorded an assist on Duncan Keith's power play goal before leaving the game.
Even though he's been in a bit of a slump recently (by his standards), recording five points in nine games since returning from the Olympic break he is still on top of Chicago's scoring list and in the top-10 of the league with 69 points in 68 games.
