Towson's record-setting running back was on display for NFL scouts, while McNeese State's Diontae Spencer ran a blazing 4.27 40-time.
On Monday, NFL front offices got a good look at four schools that hope to hear some of their players' names called during the draft on May 8-10. With most of the major programs having completed their workouts, Monday's group was comprised of smaller schools: Louisiana-Lafayette, McNeese State, Morgan State and Towson.
Very few pro days remain before the draft process turns from live evaluations to hunkering down in a conference room, poring over the last few bits of tape and setting up the final draft board for each team.

The only major prospect of the day was Towson running back Terrance West, who's considered by many to have third-round potential and is rated the No. 11 running back prospect by SB Nation. Pleased with his combine numbers, West elected to forgo the measurable drills on Monday.
The most interesting news surrounding the record-setting back was a tweet mishap by the Baltimore Ravens, who incorrectly claimedWest had measured in at 5'9, 262 pounds -- a nearly 40-pound increase over his combine weight. Having scored 41 touchdowns in his final season, West has been called a bowling ball, but Baltimore's claims would make that description a bit too literal. As clarified shortly after by Matt Zenitz of the Carroll County Times, West actually weighed in at a much more believable 230 pounds.

Perhaps the biggest winner on Monday was McNeese State wide receiver and return specialist Diontae Spencer, who put up monster numbers for the 19 scouts who showed up in Lake Charles. He ran a scorching 4.27 40-yard dash, according to BombasticView.com, which would have put him behind only Dri Archer among times at the combine, regardless of position.
The rest of his numbers weren't too shabby either.

Amongst the teams in attendance to watch Spencer's incredible performance were the Jacksonville Jaguars, who were apparently in a wistful mood.
