The Knicks' season somehow just got more ridiculous.
The New York Knicks' season is mercifully coming to an end in the next few days, but Amar'e Stoudemire made sure to add yet another item to the folder marked "Ridiculous." Take it away, Amar'e!
Full quote from Amar'e Stoudemire on the 2013-14 Knicks: "On paper we might have been the best team in the league."
— Tommy Beer (@TommyBeer) April 13, 2014
This amazing quote comes at the end of a year that started with J.R. Smithsaying he was "100 percent sure" New York would win the title. In between these two gems have come a bevy of absurd incidents, silly Mike Woodson quotes and mostly awful play.
There seriously should be a book written about this Knicks season, because there's certainly plenty of material to work with. There could probably be a book on Smith's antics alone, but it would be more fun to include everything else. And this latest Amar'e quote would provide the perfect title for the book. It could be something like, "Paper Champions, The Story of the 2013-14 New York Knicks." A New York Times bestseller, for sure.
The "Paper Champs" did snap the Chicago Bulls' seven-game winning streak on Sunday night, winning 100-89.
