Atlanta thought it had saved a loss against the Bobcats late. With 2.6 seconds, guard Lou Williams dribbled around a pick and shot a 16-foot jumper on the right elbow to tie the game at 93-93.
Then, with less than three seconds remaining on the clock, Charlotte advanced the ball with a timeout and set up an out-of-bounds play. Josh McRoberts held the ball a little too long, and the Hawks' defense held as several Bobcats ran around screens trying to get free.
Near the five-second count, McRoberts inbounded the ball to Chris Douglas-Roberts, who drove to the left side of the basket and put up a flailing runner that looked destined for the back iron. It swished perfectly through the net as time expired, and Charlotte came away with a win on the road, 95-93.
