The Kansas City Chiefs will be without receiver Jon Baldwin this weekend, according to Romeo Crennel at his Friday press conference (via Nick Jacobs). Baldwin was dealing with a head/neck injury and hadn't practiced all week so we knew he probably wasn't going to play.
Baldwin's injury came on in Monday's game against the Steelers. He was attempting to make a catch and his head hit the turf, like so:
He went to the sidelines after that and did not return.
What his absence means on Sunday is that Steve Breaston will probably be active. Breaston was not active last week, the first time in his career he was a healthy scratch. He's hardly been used this year but without Baldwin on Sunday the Chiefs will need Breaston to play.
I finally get my wish: Breaston over Baldwin.
