Detroit grabbed an athletic outfielder with impressive baseball bloodlines with its first pick on Thursday.
The Detroit Tigers selected high school outfielder Derek Hill with the No. 23 overall pick in the 2014 MLB Draft on Thursday.
Hill, an athletic 6'2, 175-pound native of California, is the son of former Dodgers minor leaguer and current area scout Orsino Hill and the cousin of longtime MLB great Darryl Strawberry.

Hill clearly has impressive baseball bloodlines. And, as an added bonus for him, he'll join an organization that employs his favorite player, Torii Hunter.
