Eight days after his father, Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn, died, Phillies outfielder Tony Gwynn Jr. returned to the team after a week on the bereavement list. Gwynn didn't start against the Marlins, but batted as a pinch hitter in the eighth inning. The Philadelphia faithful gave Gwynn the younger a standing ovation.
