Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray and Na Li will be among those in action on Friday at Wimbledon.
The third round of the 2014 Wimbledon Championships is set to begin on Friday, and there's several matchups worth watching. Men's No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic will be in action against an unseeded opponent, but Gilles Simon is never one to roll over and take a loss without making it tough for his opposition.
Simon's career high singles ranking was No. 6 overall, back in 2009. His current ranking is No. 44 in the world, though he started the 2014 season ranked 19th. He's had a rough time of late, but he can always bounce back and Djokovic should take nothing for granted. Djokovic holds a 6-1 edge in the series against Simon, with Simon taking the first meeting back in 2008. Still, it should be an exciting matchup.
Also in action for the men will be No. 3 seed Andy Murray. He'll be taking on his first seeded opponent of the tournament in No. 27 Roberto Bautista Agut. No. 6 Tomas Berdych will also take on No. 26 Marin Cilic, and No. 11 Grigor Dimitrov will take on No. 21 Alexandr Dolgopolov.
For the women, No. 2 seed Na Li will be in action against unseeded Barbora Zahlavova Strycova. We haven't seen many upsets on the women's side, outside of No. 8 Victoria Azarenka falling on Wednesday to Bojana Jovanovski. No. 6 Petra Kvitova will also take on No. 30 Venus Williams on Centre Court.
While ESPN has split up its television coverage for the first few days of the tournament, Friday's coverage will be in one block on its flagship network. Beginning at 7 a.m. ET, ESPN's coverage will run through 5 p.m. This means the online streaming will be plenty simple as well, as WatchESPN will carry plenty of coverage in addition to Wimbledon's own live video.
TV schedule: 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. (ESPN)
