The Coke Zero 400 at Daytona has been rescheduled for 11 a.m. ET Sunday due to rain.

The Coke Zero 400 has been postponed to 11 a.m. ET Sunday after persistent rain drenched Daytona International Speedway.

Heavy showers began falling Saturday mid-afternoon and continued into the evening. NASCAR deployed its Air Titan track drying system several times, but the unrelenting rain never allowed officials the opportunity to dry the 2.5-mile speedway. TNT will broadcast the rescheduled race.

Daytona marks the second postponement of the year, and is among several races that have been affected by weather. Rain delayed the Daytona 500 six-plus hours and forced the April race at Texas Motor Speedway to be moved from Sunday to Monday.

Sunday's forecast at Daytona calls for thunderstorms throughout the morning and into the afternoon, according to meteorologist Brian Neudorff. But a decreasing chance of rain in the evening and an earlier start time should help NASCAR get the Coke Zero 400 in.
