The only thing the NBPA members can agree on is discord.
The NBPA's search for an executive director to lead the player's association to succeed Billy Hunter is going great!
One player told Yahoo! Sports reporter Adrian Wojnarowski Monday's negotiations were "a cluster". A cluster of what, exactly? I can't say, but my bet is on fun! Or ****s.
With three finalists for the position -- Dean Garfield, president and CEO of the Information Technology Industry Council; Washington, D.C. lawyer Michele Johnson; and Mavericks CEO Terdema Ussery -- the NBPA came together to vote on the group's new leader. The simple concept of this event did not come out as such.
Tons of turmoil was the theme Monday with the advisory search committee formed by former NBA player and current Sacramento mayor Kevin Johnson coming to an end thanks to an ousting by the NBPA's executive committee. Plus retired player Jerry Stackhouse decided to come and ruffle feathers.
As some expected, retired player Jerry Stackhouse showed at NBPA meeting and criticized process for executive director, source tells Yahoo.

Meanwhile retired former NBA player Adam Morrison remains quiet.
Stackhouse doesn't have official role in NBPA process, but has support. One player in room tells Yahoo, "He's trying to initiate a divide."

Truth be told, Stack's the least of the NBPA issues now. So many factions, so many agendas. In every way, union remains a house divided.

The scheduled vote is for 11 p.m. EST, but ESPN's Marc Stein reports some players are apparently arguing in favor of restarting the search for an executive director.
It sounds like they need someone to represent the players. Someone to unite the players. Perhaps a song, or an anthem for the NBA players, who of course come from countries around the world. An International Players Anthem, if you will.
