Some of the biggest names in the sport have already been banned, headlined by a pair of top-notch linebackers.

Every year, the NFL tries to crack down on players using performance-enhancing drugs and illegal substances of any kind, including drugs such as marijuana. This offseason is no different, and quite a few players have already been nabbed by the league.

In 2014, the NFL has suspended 16 players for violations so far, with some of the biggest names in the game on the list. Let's take a look at the details in the chart below:

One pending suspension is that of Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon. Gordon, who led the NFL in receiving yards last season with 1,646, is facing a potential yearlong ban for violating the substance abuse policy. Should he be suspended, this would be the second time in his NFL career. He also violated the substance abuse policy in 2013 and was banned for the first two games of the season.
