An ambulance was required to take the top prospect off the field after Buxton suffered a concussion.
Twins minor league outfielder and top prospect Byron Buxton was taken off the field in an ambulance Wednesday night, following a collision with Double-A Fort Myers right fielder Mike Kvasnicka.
Both players were down for extended periods of time. Trainers and paramedics were on the field attending to Buxton, who had not moved at all in a 10-minute span, per onlookers. An ambulance was driven out onto the field as Buxton was stabilized.

This was his first Double-A game after logging 30 games in the Florida State League. The limited action was due to a wrist injury early in the year, followed by an aggravation of that injury. The centerfielder is a five-tool prospect who has prompted comparisons to Mike Trout for his ability to impact the game on all sides of the ball. He was the second overall selection in the 2012 draft behind Houston's Carlos Correa, who recently suffered a season-ending injury himself.
Buxton produced a .240/.313/.405 slash line with four home runs and six stolen bases in 121 at-bats for High-A Fort Myers prior to his promotion.
