KC Chiefs head coach spoke to the media this afternoon, one day following the 17-9 loss to the Denver Broncos.
You can see video of the press conference here. A few highlights are below...
Two drives: The defense played well for the most part but there were two "critical" drives from Peyton Manning and the offense that hurt. The first one was at the end of the first half, that resulted in a touchdown. The second one was the Broncos final offensive drive, which ate up over six minutes of clock and included two third down conversions.
So, why isn't Jon Baldwin a big part of the offense? "He hasn't gotten as many opportunities," Crennel said. "Jon, he tried during the course of the game, he was open on one play but Brady went the other way. If he had gone to Jon it might've been a touchdown. Sometimes as coverages develop, as things develop in the game, the quarterback goes from one side to the other side and they just haven't gone to him as much."
Is there a reason Baldwin isn't producing other than Brady Quinn and Matt Cassel? If there were an easy and obvious answer as to why he's not a big part of the Chiefs offense then Romeo would be able to just come out and say it, right?
Back to the fourth down decisions: "When I made the decision that I made, I had good reason for making them," Crennel said. "You don't look back. If they work, they think you're a genius. If they don't, you go the other way, you're a dummy." Crennel indicated that if the Chiefs had been in a fourth down position in the second half, instead of their first or second possession, he might be more inclined to win it.

Injury updates:
- McCluster has a head injury. No updates on him.
- Kendrick Lewis has a shoulder injury. He's having an MRI on Monday to see if there's any damage there. "They didn't seem overly concerned about it at the time," Crennel said.
- No updates on Branden Albert's status.
