Steve Sarkisian doesn't know who Fresno State's coach is

Names are overrated.

Steve Sarkisian isn't new to the PAC 12, but he might still be getting used to California ... look, it's the best excuse we can come up with, OK? The USC head coach was asked about Fresno State and how the team has changed since 2013. Sarkisian had a very interesting answer

"Unfortunately, Coach MacIntyre didn't let me come to practice for the last 30 days, so I don't exactly know," Sarkisian said.

No, Coach MacIntyre wouldn't let you watch Fresno State practice. Probably because he's not the coach of Fresno State. That job belongs to Tim DeRuyter, and he's been with the team since 2012. Maybe Sark was thinking of Colarado head coach Mike MacIntyre, but that's a stretch.

Coaches tend to preach preparation and knowing every in and out of a team, but Sarkisian isn't concerned with such things.

"Quite honestly, our opponent is irrelevant," he said. "It's not up to our opponent if we play well or not."

That includes not knowing their name, apparently.
