The hazing reportedly gave a freshman a concussion.

North Carolina's football team was involved in a hazing incident that resulted in a freshman suffering a concussion, according to Yahoo! Sports. The Tar Heels are reportedly aware of the incident and are investigating it.

During the first week of August, redshirt freshman walk-on wide receiver Jackson Boyer was involved in an alleged physical altercation with multiple teammates in his room at the A-Loft hotel in Chapel Hill where the team was staying during fall camp, sources told Yahoo Sports. The incident allegedly left Boyer with a concussion, sources said.

The player who injured Boyer is still unknown, and with the investigation ongoing, UNC has not announced any discipline. The Tar Heels open the season on Saturday against Liberty.

The North Carolina athletic department has been no stranger to scandals recently. The NCAA recently reopened its investigation into UNC athletes taking fake classes -- a scandal that escalated again this summer when former Tar Heels basketball star Rashad McCants validated those claims.
