The Chiefs running back returned to practice this week but remains uncertain to play against the Dolphins.
Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles is listed as questionable for Week 3, head coach Andy Reid announced on Friday. Per Arrowhead Pride:
"Jamaal went through practice today," Reid said on Friday. "What we're going to do before we give you any update on it is see how he did today and how he feels after this practice. But he did practice and moved around and did a decent job. So we'll see how it all works out."
The Chiefs running back had surprised with a return to practice earlier on Thursday after being diagnosed with a high ankle sprain in the game on Sunday against the Denver Broncos. Charles left the game against the Broncos and did not return.
Charles has been limited on offense even when healthy for the Chiefs this season. He had only 11 touches in the opening loss to the Tennessee Titans. Last year, Charles led the NFL with 12 rushing touchdowns and had 1,980 yards from scrimmage.
With Charles out, the Chiefs are expected to turn to running back Knile Davis to fill the void. Davis had 22 carries for 79 yards and two touchdowns against the Broncos. In addition, Davis caught six passes for 26 yards.
