Heisman Trophy front-runner Marcus Mariota added a 26-yard trick-play touchdown reception to his records Thursday night against Arizona, making it 7-3. The ball came loose right at the end, and it appears he miiiiight've dropped it before entering the free and clear, but an official review failed to conclude he'd dropped it.
He's now Oregon's second-leading receiver on the night, and it's the second quarter. That should tell you some things about how slowly the Ducks started on offense. Running back Royce Freeman has also become one of the greatest passers in college football history, efficiency-wise.
This was Mariota's second career reception. The first went for a two-yard touchdown in 2012.
