KC police claim Royals' playoff run is actually preventing crime

The Kansas City police department has been having fun on Twitter.

During the AL Wild Card game, the Kansas City Police Department pleaded with residents not to do crime so they could watch the sports:

We really need everyone to not commit crimes and drive safely right now. We'd like to hear the @Royals clinch this.

Who knows if crime is actually down, but it seems like KC is enjoying its opportunity to grasp baseball success after decades of sadness.
