Let's beat each other down for three minutes, help each other up then move on. Tradition demands it.
Fans of Spartak Moscow and Dynamo Moscow have a tradition: before their two teams play, they meet up and beat each other to a pulp.
And because it's Russia, they do it on an empty highway in the snow. But this is no ordinary brawl. There are rules and sportsmanship involved.
Each group of fans is allowed 38 people and no more. They also may not use weapons of any sort and when one side has clearly won, they help the other group up and shake hands.
So in short: beat each other up to the point that blood starts pooling then shake hands in the name of tradition. One fighter even said, "thank you for the fight.
Apparently this was a tame edition, too, one participant told The Moscow Times.
"We fight before every game between Spartak and Dynamo, we support our teams. This was not a very serious fight, next time we will fight until we are even more bloody."
That's not terrifying at all, but you do you, Russia.
