Tyrann Mathieu said he quit counting his failed drug tests when he got his 10th one.
The results of Mathieu's drug test at the NFL Scouting Combine are in, and fortunately for him, he doesn't have to count any higher. According to Albert Breer, Mathieu passed his drug test at the combine, which is a big step in the right direction for the troubled LSU defensive back.
Mathieu was kicked off LSU's football team after repeated drug violations. He then sat out the 2012 season and went to rehab instead. Now, Mathieu is attempting to rehab his image one passed drug test at a time.
The 2013 NFL Draft is deep at cornerback, but Mathieu is a unique player. While he will be limited to playing in the slot due to his lack of cover skills, Mathieu has shown the ability to cause havoc for opposing offenses with his speed and nose for the ball. Give him the freedom to roam, and Mathieu could be a dangerous weapon on defense.
