Demps, formerly with the Florida Gators, focused his attention on the Olympics, where he won a silver medal as part of the U.S. 4x100-meter relay team, instead of the NFL Draft, where he could've been a late round pick. With the Olympics over, he applied to enter the NFL, making him free to sign with any team.
Reports stated that more than a few NFL teams interested in the speedster, and plenty of teams made contact with Demps. He was a fairly sought after player considering the season is only a few weeks away.
