I hear you signed your franchise tender. Since you've been gone throughout the spring and summer, I figured I'd catch you up on what you missed.
In March, the Chiefs signed a pretty awesome right tackle in Eric Winston. As we saw last Friday night, he's going to make a big difference with the offensive line. Rodney Hudson is also new to the offensive line, the starting center. But you met him last year. The Chiefs also beefed up the running game by adding Peyton Hillis. Lots of weapons on the offense this year.
In April, the Chiefs drafted Dontari Poe, a huge defensive tackle out of Memphis. He'll be playing nose tackle for Romeo Crennel but he may not start right away. The Chiefs also picked up two receivers -- Devon Wylie and Junior Hemingway. Wylie plays in the slot, so he's no danger to you.
In May, I talked to you out in Los Angeles and you said you'd be at training camp. :(
In June, nothing happened because nothing ever happens in June besides us getting so bored we talk about things like cutting Dexter McCluster.
In July, we knew we had a potential problem on our hands when you and the Chiefs didn't agree on a multiyear contract before the July 16 deadline.
In August, your boy Jon Baldwin had his coming out party. He was awesome in training camp with highlight catches on a daily basis. He really seems like he's stepped up this year. Do you think he would ever be good enough to replace you? Actually, let's just not think about that right now.
