The Vancouver Canucks and San Jose Sharks are headed to overtime thanks to Patrick Marleau's dramatic tying goal with just 56 seconds left in regulation time of Game 2.
Facing the prospect of falling behind in the series 2-0 at home, the Canucks started slowly and let the Sharks grab the lead on Joe Thornton's goal. But Ryan Kesler scored two third-period goals to turn the game around and put the Canucks in position to tie the series.
All signs pointed to a Canucks victory, as Vancouver's play improved over the course of the game and they benefited from two goalposts hit by the Sharks.
But with Antti Niemi pulled for a sixth attacker in the final minute, Marleau converted on a rebound after Dan Boyle sent the puck toward the net.
This game is headed to overtime. The Canucks are still at risk of dropping both games at home.
