Golden State Warriors big man David Lee expects to play again this postseason after tearing his hip flexor, according to Ric Bucher of 95.7 The Game. Lee was a guest on Bucher's radio show and stated his intention to play again and also called surgery a "likely possibility" once the Warriors' playoff run end:
David Lee said on my radio show this afternoon that he will play again this postseason; also said surgery to repair his torn right hip flexor is still "a likely possibility" once the season is over. We want to "make sure the problem is fixed," he said.
Lee suffered the injury in the Warriors' first game of the postseason and was expected to miss the remainder of the playoffs. In a surprising development, Lee was active for Game 6 against the Denver Nuggets on March 2, but played just under a minute and a half. He has not played in either game against the San Antonio Spurs. Lee did not indicate a specific date for his return.
Game 3 between the Warriors and Spurs is Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. The series has shifted to Oakland tied at one win a piece.
