That's the approach Quinn seemed to take when he spoke to reporters today following the announcement that he was the Chiefs No. 2 quarterback behind Matt Cassel.
Ricky Stanzi, the Chiefs third string quarterback, also spoke about Romeo Crennel's quarterback depth chart.
Here's what they said:
Brady Quinn
Q: How does it feel to be named the No. 2 quarterback?
Quinn: "Regardless of what that title is, we're preparing for the season. Everyone is just trying to get better every day, especially after the past couple of weeks. We'd like to get a win underneath our belts up there in Green Bay. That's really the biggest thing on my mind."
Q: Is it good to have it be named now?
Quinn: "Again, everyone wants to be a starter in this league and play on the field, so that's really the ultimate sign you'd be happy about, having a title of sorts. Again, right now, it's all about doing whatever we can to prepare for Green Bay."

Ricky Stanzi
Q: What's your general reaction of Brady Quinn being named No. 2 quarterback?
Stanzi: "My reaction is whatever spot the coaches want me at on this team, it's my job to do that role to help out the rest of the team. We have a great quarterback room. We learn from each other. We learn from Coach (Brian) Daboll; we learn from Coach (Jim) Zorn. That's our focus as a group, to try to do what we can to help our team and keep our room playing at a high level."
Q: Is there any sense that an opportunity slipped by?
Stanzi: "No. Just keep going to work. That's what you can do. You go back every day. Continue to compete. Your job is to know what you have to do mentally here and know what you have to transfer from the classroom to the field."
Q: There's no disappointment of any kind?
Stanzi: "No. Like I said, just continue to try and work and get better."
