If you knew the Sharks would score in the first two minutes of a Game 3 at home, you'd probably expect them to be leading after one period.
You'd be wrong. A late gaffe by Brad Stuart ended with the Kings tying the score at 1-1, and the two teams will try and break past the other in the second.
The Kings got into some penalty trouble early on. Jake Muzzin went off for a delay of game penalty (the dreaded puck over the glass call) at 1:10 in the first. A faceoff win and a shot from Dan Boyle later, and the Kings were trailing by a goal.
Los Angeles got a chance to even the score when Brad Stuart's outlet pass got picked off by rookie Tyler Toffoli, who deftly deposited the puck into the net.
It was the kind of mistake the Sharks can't afford if they want to avoid going down 3-0 in this series.
