The Maryland Terrapins lost wide receiver Marcus Leak on Thursday, when he announced that he was withdrawing from school. His withdrawal from school is over personal reasons, and he is reportedly still in good academic standing with the university.
Leak was expected to start at wideout for the Terps in 2013, but that is clearly no longer the case. He started the first seven games of the 2012 season, but a toe injury kept him out of the final five games and spring practice. Leak finished the year with 23 receptions for 393 yards and two touchdowns.
While the loss of Leak is a blow for Maryland, the Terps still have star wide receiver Stefon Diggs coming back for his sophomore season. Leak said he wants to re-enroll in January, so this might not be the last we've seen of him in a Maryland uniform.
