An already physical game turned into a brawl in the second period. Boston still leads 1-0 over the Penguins, but Pittsburgh will be out for blood in the third.

It all started when Matt Cooke was ejected for checking Adam McQuaid from behind early in the period.

Cooke's major gave the Bruins five whole minutes on the power play...and they did nothing with it. In fact, Boston's best chance to score came on a shorthanded breakaway. Notice Brad Marchand with a blatant interference? He wasn't done.

Tensions boiled over when Marchand made a questionable hit of his own on James Neal.

Interestingly, Marchand only got a minor penalty. The rest of the period featured plenty of verbal sparring and physicality, but things didn't truly explode until the period ended. The two teams came together at center ice, and Evgeni Malkin took on Patrice Bergeron in a surprising fight.

Meanwhile, the two captains got into it as well, as Sidney Crosby and Zdeno Chara nearly came to blows. We are in for one heck of a third period.
